Dear Birthmom

Dear Expectant Parent,

We are so excited and grateful you clicked on our profile! Having had some emotional times in our lives, we can’t imagine what you are experiencing. It means a lot to us that you are taking the time to review our profile. We have both wanted children for a long time and were lucky to find each other. We hope we will be just as lucky in adopting a child. We value family, friendship, and community. If you choose us, your baby’s life will be filled with love, and they will be surrounded by a large, loving family and lifelong friends.

We value education and lifelong learning. We will ensure that your child has the best education, both in school and out of school. We believe education includes emotional intelligence and personal development. This awesome kid will have the opportunity to explore any interests, but we will definitely be going to museums, attending concerts, and traveling! Our hope is that they love parks, historical sites, and the beach as much as we do. Brian really enjoys skiing and swimming, so he will be teaching them these fun activities. Sanvi looks forward to baking cookies and cupcakes with them.

We are looking forward to the day-to-day experiences, such as milestones, nightly family dinners, game nights, and pancake Sundays. We will support the child to develop their interests, hobbies, and relationships and create the life they want for themselves as a responsible and respectful adult.

With love,
Brian and Sanvi

Our Story

We met online in 2019 and have been happily married since 2021. Sanvi was drawn to Brian’s kindness, intelligence, and many years as a volunteer firefighter. Brian loved Sanvi’s empathy, good looks, and smarts from the first date. The pandemic started about six months into our relationship. It was a challenging time and stressful in the medical field. We grew even closer and spent time together cooking, watching movies, taking road trips, and exploring parks. We enjoy being outdoors, whether it’s dining out, grilling on the sundeck, hiking, or going on walks by the lake. We like live music and go to different venues. Brian is an attorney who has his own practice. Sanvi is a physician at a large hospital and teaches medical students. We both work with underserved communities, and our work is fulfilling.

 Our Extended Family

Sanvi’s parents, brother, and sister live in Colorado. When we get together, we enjoy good conversation, hiking, and traveling. Brian’s two sisters and their families live in the Midwest, and we celebrate Thanksgiving and birthdays with them. Brian’s dad and his wife live in Florida, and we recently spent a week with them, going to the beach and watching sunsets. We are close to both sides of the family and see them often, enjoying home-cooked meals, going out for pizza, and playing board games. We have two nephews on Brian’s side of the family and one niece on Sanvi’s. We enjoy spending time with them and going to their soccer and hockey games. It’s been so much fun seeing their interests and personalities develop as they grow up.

Brian’s large extended family celebrates Thanksgiving together annually, a tradition that started over 75 years ago. It’s a big group of us and held in a big hall in a different location each year. Sanvi’s large extended family lives in India and the U.S. We keep in touch through visits, messaging, and Zoom and are planning a trip to India over the next year or so!

 Our Home

We currently live in a big city, but our plan is to raise children in a family-friendly suburb with excellent public schools. We would like to have the comforts of a suburban house with proximity to a city with all of its cultural and recreational opportunities. Our neighborhood has beautiful parks, art, theater, and sports. Our home is a spacious unit on a high floor with a nice view of the lake. The building has a large sundeck, an indoor pool, and a grassy area to relax and play. We walk to the parks and along the lakefront path. The grocery store, bowling alley, pharmacy, and movie theater, as well as a track and tennis courts, are a short walk from home.

 Our Journey to Adoption

We talked about adoption early in our relationship. Sanvi knew she wanted to adopt before she started medical school. Her goal was to have four kids and to adopt at least two of them. While it didn’t work out to have biological children, we are very excited to fulfill the dream of adoption and start our family. We want to raise and support our children to reach their goals and create the life they want as adults. Several of our friends have been touched by adoption, some who were adopted and some who have adopted children. We love seeing their happy families.
