Dear Birthmom
Dear Birthmom
We can only imagine the courage, strength, and love it takes to consider such a deeply personal decision for your baby. Please know that we hold this choice with the utmost respect and gratitude, and we never take lightly the sacrifice you are making. From the very beginning of our relationship, we have dreamed of building a family together, and without someone as selfless as you, that dream would not be possible. Our hearts are full of love, and we are so ready to share it with a child.
If you choose us, your baby will be welcomed into a home filled with warmth, laughter, and endless care. Bedtime stories are a nightly ritual, followed by gentle goodnights. Car rides often turn into spontaneous sing-along concerts, often off-key, but always entertaining. They’ll have family bike rides that lead to playground adventures, trips to the library, and the occasional ice cream cone. Our kitchen table always has room for one more, because we believe everyone deserves to feel loved, safe, and accepted exactly as they are.
One day, if you choose us, we will proudly share the story of the incredible gift you gave our family. Your child will grow up knowing they were deeply loved and thoughtfully cared for by you, and that your love carried them into our arms.

Our Story
We’re Joshua and Spencer, and our love story began the day we matched and went on a first date that effortlessly stretched for hours. It didn’t take long to realize we’d found not only our partners, but our best friends. Josh works in corporate risk management, and Spencer is a licensed architect and project manager.
Living in Michigan, we fully embrace the beauty of all four seasons; traveling across the state and wandering through farmers markets, browsing charming shops and antique stores, and soaking in local festivals. Summer also finds us camping with family and friends, spending our days lounging on the beach or floating on the water, ending each evening in pursuit of the perfect s’more—which, in our opinion, must include peanut butter.
When we’re home, you’ll often find us exploring local museums, enjoying evening bike rides or walks, trying new restaurants, or hosting lively game nights with friends and family.

Our Extended Family
We’re incredibly fortunate to have large, close-knit extended families on both sides, with dozens of aunts, uncles and cousins. Our immediate family includes Josh’s parents, who are happily retired and have been married for more than 40 years, along with his two sisters and their families—bringing with them three amazing nephews. Josh’s entire family lives nearby, and they make it a tradition to gather on Friday nights for pizza, games, and plenty of laughter.
On Spencer’s side, his parents have been married for over 30 years, and he has one sister and her family, including a wonderful niece. When his parents aren’t working, they’re often camping across Michigan, a tradition that culminates in an annual summer family vacation. This decades-long trip continues to bring everyone together, now with a new generation of kids creating memories around the campfire.
Despite the joyful chaos that comes with hosting, we truly love opening our home to our extended families for the holidays. From birthdays to holidays such as 4th of July to Thanksgiving and Christmas, we’re always happy to roll out the welcome mat and celebrate with the people we love most.

Our Home
We feel incredibly fortunate to call our historic neighborhood home. While the houses boast deep roots and timeless character, the community itself is vibrant and full of young families, with children often outside playing together. It’s a close-knit area with excellent schools, beautiful lakeside parks, and welcoming neighbors. Our three-story home is shared with our very loving cat, Lily, who is usually found sunbathing by a window or curled up in our laps. Just blocks away, we enjoy easy access to local parks and a lively downtown filled with charm.
Our Journey to Adoption
From the first moment we discussed becoming parents, we both immediately agreed that adoption was our number one path to fatherhood. More than anything, we want the opportunity to provide a safe and loving home for a child who needs one. You can usually find either one of us holding a friend’s newborn baby or playing with a family member’s child at nearly every gathering we attend, and we can’t wait to share our love with a child of our own. Our deep connections with our families and friends, as well as our unwavering love and support for each other, makes us feel more than ready to start a family of our own.
