To a Loving Mother:

While we cannot pretend to fully understand all of the emotions you are going through right now, we do know the decision you are making is both incredibly difficult and brave. We are humbled by your selflessness. We want you to know our desire is not only to bring your baby into our family but to walk alongside you in this journey. When we say we see God’s heart in adoption, we believe that is not only because he loves children so much but that he sees and loves you. We also see his love demonstrated in the sacrificial love you are showing your baby. We want you to know we are open to whatever level of relationship you would like to maintain with your child in the future, and regardless, they will grow up knowing their legacy began with the incredible love you had for them even before they were born.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story. We want you to know we would consider raising your baby to be the greatest earthly gift anyone could ever give, and your child will be surrounded by love should you choose us. We want to embark on this journey with you and support you in any way we can.

Blaine and Kari

Our Story

Hi! We're Blaine and Kari. We were good friends in junior high, but life took us in different directions for many years following. We reconnected and began dating in college, and got married two days after Blaine graduated. We now have three kids: Levi, Selah, and Beckham. Blaine's steady job as a Naval aviator allows Kari to be a stay-at-home mom. We love adventure, whether that's camping at the beach or experiencing new cultures through travel. But we also have a nerdy side and enjoy hosting game nights with friends, or just reading together. We stay very involved at our church, and our shared faith is an important part of our relationship. Though we love the time spent with friends and extended family, we also really cherish the time we have together. We treasure the friendships we have in our family and are so excited to be adding another one to it!

 Our Extended Family

Although the military makes it difficult to always live near extended family, we have really amazing relationships with both sides of the family, which is a blessing. They regularly make trips out to visit us, and we usually go to visit them once a year. They have all been so supportive of us in this adoption journey and cannot wait to welcome another member into the family!

Blaine is the youngest of three boys. Some of our favorite traditions with his family are going to see Christmas lights or doing bonfires and s'mores at the grandparents'. There are eight cousins on that side of the family, so the kids enjoy playing together. Kari is the oldest of five kids and has a large extended family. Family gatherings usually include hiking, board games, and Mexican food.

We also have a large group of other military families and members of our local church that are like family to us. They have also been so supportive of and excited for our adoption journey!

 Our Home

We live in a beautiful, family-friendly area of northern Florida. We have a huge grass backyard with a swing set, playhouse, and grill where we spend a lot of time. We live in a very safe neighborhood with a near-zero crime rate, which allows for lots of family walks. We live in a great school district. Our city has lots to do, and some of our favorite places are the beach, children's library and museum, parks, and the zoo. Additionally, there is a nearby pool and splash pad for cooling down during our long summers, and we have many theme parks within driving distance.

 Our Journey to Adoption

We have both always hoped to adopt. Kari has three adopted cousins, and we each have many friends and mentors who are adopted themselves or have adopted. We have seen what a beautiful thing adoption is. We also strongly believe this is God's heart. We absolutely love being parents and are convinced that love rather than blood is what binds a family together. We would also deeply value the honor of walking with the birth parents as they make this incredibly difficult and brave choice for their baby.
