Dear Birthmom

We are truly humbled by your strength and courage. The decision you are facing is one of the most profound acts of love we can imagine. While we cannot fully understand your journey, please know that our hearts are with you in compassion and deep respect.

We will honor your story, and your child will know the incredible love and selflessness that shaped their beginning; we will ensure that your child grows up understanding the bravery behind your decision. Your role in their life will never be forgotten; it will be celebrated with the deepest gratitude.

Our home is filled with laughter, warmth, and most importantly, unconditional love. We cherish every moment spent together —whether that's trying new recipes on a rainy afternoon, exploring nature trails, playing with our cat, or reading good books. Most of all, we are ready to provide your child with a life rooted in the love of God, in kindness, in security, and in joy.

Thank you for taking a moment to consider us. Whatever path you choose, we hope you feel surrounded by support and compassion. You are not alone, and your love will always be a guiding light in your baby's life.

With love,
Josh & Mary

Our Story

We have been in love for eight years. This year, we celebrate seven beautiful years of marriage, and every day together is a blessing: the love, kindness, respect, and stitch-in-your-side, can-barely-breathe laughter that fills our home makes being together the best time of every day. We met through our church, and this foundation of faith has not only been the rock of our relationship, but our church is also such an important part of our family. Josh is an engineer, and Mary is a high school English teacher. Josh grew up in CA and TX until he was 10 before joining Mary in OH where she was born and raised. Though we love to travel and see new places, it's here, in our little home in OH, that we spend normal days as partners and best friends.

 Our Extended Family

We are both very close with our families. Mary has one brother who serves in the military and lives with his wife and two boys. We love our Facetime chats with our nephews and are looking forward to many more day trips to the zoo, Lego building nights, and twinkly holiday mornings.

Our favorite traditions with Mary's mom and stepdad are summer bonfires and the "Christmas Eve Throwdown" where we draw names, go to the store with a timer, and run around to find one last gift for each other. Mary's dad and stepmom live in Brazil, and we enjoy the rich multicultural traditions that we get to experience as a family when we are together.

Josh has two younger sisters, and we see each other frequently. There is so much joy, laughter, and volume that we can barely hear our own thoughts. Our favorite traditions are playing board games, spending two hours trying to pick a movie, telling stories, and making Thanksgiving dinner.

We are especially grateful that both of our families attend the same church and that we can all pursue our faith together.

 Our Home

Our three-bedroom, three-bathroom house is nestled on a quiet, beautiful street in a family-friendly neighborhood. We love sitting on our wrap-around porch, playing music in our library, and lighting candles to read in the sunroom. Our cozy style makes our house the spot where our family likes to come, stay, and play with our very loving (and silly) orange cat. We live close to several metro parks, bike trails, an art museum, bookstores, and stadiums where we see our favorite sports teams and attend concerts. Our public school system is one of the best in the state, and Mary also teaches in the district.

 Our Journey to Adoption

Right after we got married, we both discussed our hearts for adoption. When this became an option for us to build our family, we both knew this was the right choice. We believe families are knit together, and we are humbled at the thought that our adoption journey brings so many lives together, united by the unconditional love of a precious baby. Our journey to adoption has been filled with gifts of hope, support, and love from our families, friends, and colleagues, and we cannot wait to share all of these gifts we've received through the adoption process.
