Dear Birthmom

Dear Expectant Mother,

Hi, my name is Jennifer. I am a seventh-grade math teacher who has always wanted to be a mother. First of all, thank you for reading my letter and considering me to raise your child as my own. There are no words that can express the deep respect I have for your selfless decision to consider me to parent your child. You are making my dream of motherhood become a reality. Thank you for trusting me and for the gift of this incredible child, whom I will love unconditionally. I would be extremely honored to parent your child and give them experiences in life to enrich their curiosity, determination, and love for others. Please know that your child will be cherished beyond measure with unconditional love. I will celebrate little and big milestones, persevere through challenges, and we will live in a home filled with love, laughter, and warmth. I am grateful that if you choose me, you will be part of my family, and I will communicate the truth with your child and always speak of you with the utmost respect. If you choose me as a mother to your child, I can promise you that I will protect, educate, and provide opportunities for them to become a loving, educated, and thoughtful adult. I value diversity, honesty, and kindness, and I can promise that I will do my best to provide opportunities and experiences that they will be able to cherish for a lifetime. I hope you will allow me the opportunity to raise your child as my own.

With gratitude and love,
Jen

My Story

One of my favorite family traditions comes at Christmas. Ever since I was little, everyone in the family, including the dogs, would receive stockings. We have continued this throughout my life as I have gotten older. I can't wait to give your child this experience and see their face light up at every little thing inside their stocking each year. Around the holidays, we also love to decorate for Christmas, make cookies, and drive around and look at Christmas lights. In the last few years, we have started to celebrate Christmas in July. Life should be surrounded by celebrations and accomplishments that help enrich the meaning of life. I hope to include your child in these activities to enrich their lives.

 My Extended Family

I have always wanted to be a mother. I have a very close relationship with my mom and love the concept of family. I am a dog mom to a bichon poodle, Penny, who would be excellent with children. I want to be a mom, and what better way to give a child a home than through adoption? A mother gives unconditional love, and I want to experience that in my life no matter how motherhood comes to me. I personally witnessed the bond between a grandmother and her grandchild, and I hope that my mom can experience this. I was extremely close to my grandmother and cherish all of the memories we made through the years. My grandmother was a very special person, and even though she is not with me Earthside anymore, she will always be a huge part of my life. My parents, Sharon and Dave, are extremely supportive and would be excellent grandparents. They would love this child and put the needs of your child above their own. My extended family includes my aunt, uncle, and cousins, as well as my friends that I have had throughout life (new and old) and my work family.

 My Home

My home is located in a small, quiet, suburban neighborhood in New Jersey. It is in close proximity to schools, parks, and all community activities. We would be taking walks in our neighborhood or riding bikes as the child grows up with my dog, Penny, and the other neighborhood children. We would also be spending time in Hamilton, NJ, where I grew up at my childhood home. I would want to create a childhood with exciting adventures and everyday experiences like playing on a swing set in the backyard. We are also close to the beach for beach/boardwalk visits and close to New York City and Philadelphia, as well. Life is about creating experiences with your children to leave them with memories forever.

 My Journey to Adoption

While I love to be home, I do like to travel and go away for vacations. My two favorite vacations were when I was seven to Disney World and then years later when I was an adult and went to Las Vegas. Disney World is such a magical place for children and adults of all ages to experience in their lives. I would hope to share this experience with your child. In Las Vegas, I had the opportunity to meet my childhood band crush, the Backstreet Boys, and see them perform in concert. An experience like this is once in a lifetime, and I hope to create these opportunities with your child.
