Dear Birthmom

Thank you so much for taking the time to read our letter and for considering us as you make such a deeply personal decision. We can only imagine how heavy this moment may feel, and we want you to know how much we respect your strength, your love, and the care you are showing your baby in exploring adoption. The thoughtfulness behind this choice speaks volumes about the kind of parent you are.

Our journey to adoption has been guided by a deep desire to become parents and by reflection on what truly matters to us. We believe family is built through love, commitment, and showing up every day, and adoption feels like a meaningful and intentional way to grow our family. It is a path we chose with open hearts, one that has filled us with gratitude and hope for the future.

We imagine a life made up of small but meaningful moments—bedtime stories and morning hugs, outdoor adventures and cozy evenings at home, laughter around the dinner table and traditions shared with love. More than anything, we want to raise a child in a home where they feel safe, supported, and deeply loved for who they are.

If you were to choose us, your baby would always know about you and the love behind their story. We would speak of you with honesty, respect, and gratitude, honoring the incredible courage and selflessness at the beginning of their life.

Thank you again for your consideration and for the love you so clearly have for your child.

Our Story

We met when we were just sixteen years old on a school trip to Mexico. From that moment on, we were inseparable. We dated throughout high school, supporting each other through first milestones, big dreams, and growing up side by side. When college came, moving in together felt like the most natural next step — we had already built a partnership rooted in trust, laughter, and a deep sense of “home” with each other.

We spent our twenties building a life together, traveling across the country and exploring as many national parks as we could, always choosing experiences over things and adventure over routine. Those years shaped who we are — a couple that values time together, curiosity, and shared memories. At 28, we married knowing we weren’t just in love, but truly best friends.

We love the life we’ve built and the steady, joyful partnership we continue to grow every day. Our story is one of commitment, patience, and choosing each other through every season of life. We’re excited for the next chapter — one where we get to share the love, stability, and sense of wonder we’ve built together with a child.

 Our Extended Family

Family is such an important part of our lives, and we are grateful to live so close to them. Jake’s family is all within about 20–30 minutes of each other, which means we get together often. We love cooking big meals as a family, and things usually end with us gathered around the table playing games that quickly turn a little competitive but always full of laughter.

Katie’s family is just as close—her parents live only 10 minutes away, and we see them often. They love creating memories with us through shared experiences, whether that’s taking a trip to New York City during Christmastime to see the lights, or visiting Katie’s brother in Florida with a fun stop at the theme parks along the way. Both of our families are excited to welcome a new little one and can’t wait to make even more memories together.

 Our Home

For the past seven years, we’ve been happily settled in our townhouse, and it has truly become our home. We’ve designed it with family in mind—our entire basement is set up as a play area, with a door that opens right out to the community field. It’s the perfect spot for enjoying the outdoors. Just a short walk from our house is the community pool, where summer days are filled with laughter and fun. The local elementary school is just past the pool, complete with sports fields, playgrounds, and wide-open areas for games and activities.

We’re excited to share our home, neighborhood, and the love of our pets with a child and to create even more happy memories together.

 Our Journey to Adoption

Traveling is one of our greatest joys, and some of our most cherished memories together have been exploring national parks. We love the beauty, adventure, and sense of peace that comes from being in nature. Olympic, Zion, and the Grand Tetons are among our favorite parks—we’ve hiked through lush forests, stood in awe of breathtaking canyons, and marveled at towering mountain peaks. Each trip has given us time to slow down, connect, and appreciate the wonder of the world around us.

We can’t wait to share these experiences with a child—watching them see a waterfall for the first time, spot wildlife on a trail, or roast marshmallows around a campfire. We believe travel creates lasting memories and teaches important values like curiosity, gratitude, and respect for nature. Our hope is to give our child not only the joy of adventure but also the grounding sense of home that comes from exploring the world together.
