Dear Birthmom
Dear Birthmom
Adoption doesn’t begin with us—it begins with you, and the brave, loving choice to put your child’s future first. We want you to know how deeply we honor that.
First and foremost, thank you for considering adoption and for taking the time to learn about us. We know this decision carries an incredible amount of weight, love, and uncertainty. While we can never fully understand what you are feeling, we deeply respect the courage it takes to place your child’s future above all else—and we promise to honor that courage every day.
As a same-sex couple, becoming parents has never been something we assumed would simply happen. It’s something we’ve hoped for and prepared for with intention. We waited to grow our family until we could offer not just love, but stability, community, and opportunity—so that a child could grow up surrounded by cousins, close friends, and adults who show up consistently and wholeheartedly.
Our home is filled with laughter, open space, long dinners, and traditions that bring people together. We believe childhood should be rooted in safety and curiosity—where questions are welcomed, feelings are respected, and a child always knows they are deeply wanted. We are committed to supporting your child’s dreams and passions, wherever they may lead—whether that’s academics, the arts, athletics, the outdoors, or something uniquely their own. We imagine cheering from the sidelines, sitting in the front row, or listening intently at the kitchen table as they excitedly explain what they love and who they are becoming.
Your child would be raised knowing where they came from, surrounded by honesty, pride, and unconditional love. If chosen, we promise to love your child fiercely, guide them patiently, and always speak of you with gratitude and respect—because your love made our family possible.

Our Story
One of our greatest passions is raising and showing Shorthorn cattle—a lifestyle rooted in responsibility, patience, and care. Life on the farm moves with the seasons, and every spring brings the joy of welcoming new calves and watching them take their first steps across fresh green pastures. It’s a reminder of growth, nurturing, and the beauty of beginnings.
This passion is shared with Dustin’s family and a close community of friends, many of whom show cattle alongside us across state and national events. We also enjoy mentoring younger 4-H members, teaching daily care, showmanship, and the pride that comes from dedication and hard work. These experiences emphasize values we care deeply about: commitment, confidence, and kindness.
Our nephews, Emerson and Porter, are excited to begin their own junior show careers, and we can’t wait to celebrate those milestones together. We imagine your child growing up in this world of hands-on experiences, learning from role models, and forming bonds with cousins who feel like siblings. More than a hobby, our farm life is a foundation for connection, purpose, and discovery—a place where children can explore their interests, try new things, and know they are surrounded by love and encouragement every step of the way.

Our Extended Family
Family and friends are at the heart of our lives, and your child would be surrounded by people who show up—consistently, lovingly, and joyfully. Both of our families live about an hour and a half away, close enough for regular visits and shared traditions. Aaron shares a special bond with his mom and grandma, while Dustin’s family includes two sisters, devoted parents, and nephews who bring constant laughter and energy to our gatherings.
Time together matters to us. We camp with Aaron’s family, attend cattle shows with Dustin’s, and look forward to holidays and weekend get-togethers that feel familiar and grounding. Our friends—many of whom we’ve known since high school and college—are like extended family. Most have young children, and our summers are filled with backyard barbecues, pool days, and vacations where kids run freely and adults linger at the table a little longer.
We’ve built friendships wherever life has taken us, including St. Louis and back home in Indiana, and we’ve carried those connections with us. Your child would grow up surrounded by cousins, friends’ children, and adults who celebrate milestones big and small—never lacking for love, guidance, or encouragement.

Our Home
Our home is a place of calm, space, and possibility. We live on 63 rolling acres of farmland that felt like it found us at exactly the right time. From the front porch, we watch the seasons unfold—green pastures in spring, fireflies in summer, and wildlife passing through year-round. There are trails to explore, a small stream, and even the occasional arrowhead that hints at history beneath our feet.
Our warm, three-bedroom home is filled with light, wide-open views, and our two dogs, Hank and Pongo. Our pool and backyard make summer gatherings a favorite. Though rural, our community is close and supportive. We imagine your child growing up with room to roam, safety to explore, and a home that always feels welcoming.

Our Journey to Adoption
We believe the world is meant to be explored—together. Travel has shaped who we are, from wandering Italian vineyards to hiking the Belize Maya Forest and relaxing along the shores of St. Thomas. Having visited 17 countries so far, each experience has deepened our curiosity, adaptability, and appreciation for different cultures. Closer to home, adventure is just as meaningful. We’ve set goals to explore each National Park and camp in each of the Indiana State Parks.
Camping is especially close to Aaron’s heart, reflecting how he grew up connecting with family and nature. Whether traveling far or staying close, these moments are about presence, laughter, and shared discovery. We look forward to welcoming your child into these adventures, helping them see the world with wonder.
