Dear Birthmom
Dear Birthmom
Hi, and thank you for being here and taking the time to read my profile. I can only imagine how overwhelming this season of life may feel. I have so much respect for you and the love you have for your baby. If you choose adoption, I want you to know your child will always know they were deeply loved from the very beginning. You matter, and your place in your child’s story will always matter. I will speak about you with kindness and gratitude, and I will honor your role in your child’s life in a way that feels respectful and genuine.
My hope to become a parent comes from a deep place of love and readiness. I have always wanted to be a mom. As a teacher for over 20 years, working with children ages 2–12, I experience the joy, curiosity, and wonder of childhood every day. It has only strengthened my desire to become a single parent through adoption.
I once hoped to find a partner to share this journey with, but as time has passed, I’ve realized my dream of becoming a parent doesn’t have to wait for that. I feel confident, prepared, and excited to parent on my own. I have thoughtfully considered the kind of home I want to provide—one filled with stability, laughter, learning, patience, and unconditional love. Becoming a parent through adoption feels like the most meaningful path for me, and I am ready to welcome a child with my whole heart.

My Story
I’m an active person who values health and balance because it helps me stay grounded, patient, and present—qualities I believe are so important in parenting. I exercise three to five times a week and enjoy going to my local gym, where I’ve built meaningful friendships. I know that once I have a child, my routine may shift to home workouts, and I’m completely open to that while still staying connected to friends.
I love being outdoors—hiking, camping, biking, and neighborhood walks—and I look forward to sharing those experiences with my child, especially camping trips and nature adventures. I enjoy sports like volleyball and pickleball and played softball as a child. If my child discovers a sport or activity they love, I’ll wholeheartedly support and encourage them.
I also enjoy bike rides, reading, watching a good TV series, and playing board games with friends. I can already picture adding a bike seat and bringing my little one along for the ride.

My Extended Family
Family is at the heart of my life, and I spend as much time with them as I can. My two nephews, Jackson and Austin, mean the world to me. I’ve been involved in their lives from the very beginning and even helped raise them for three months during COVID. We celebrate holidays and birthdays together, and I’m grateful that my winter, spring, and summer breaks give me extra time to visit. We love playing games, going out to dinner, playing sports, and taking rides on their pontoon boat—especially when I get to float alongside my oldest nephew. We truly cherish the memories we make.
Although I will be parenting on my own, I have a strong and loving support system. My family and friends are excited to welcome a baby and be part of their life. My parents, Elaine and Sonny, can’t wait to have another grandchild to love. My sister, Samantha, and her husband are raising two kind, respectful boys and are thrilled to support me. My brother, Fred, and sister-in-law, Jenn, are also overjoyed and bring incredible love and patience to every child they meet.

My Home
I live outside of Washington, D.C., surrounded by museums, parks, and rich diversity. My cozy two-bedroom townhome is the perfect space for me, my 7-year-old Boxer mix, Jameson, and my baby-to-be. I rescued Jameson five and a half years ago, and he’s playful, loving, and always ready for a snuggle. I look forward to stroller walks with both of them and relaxing on my green, peaceful patio.
Across the street is a playground, and within walking distance are a toy shop, restaurants, an indoor play space, and a library offering family events. There’s also a nearby elementary school with wonderful teachers and a diverse community—an environment where I hope my child will grow into an open-minded, compassionate person.

My Journey to Adoption
Growing up, my family spent every summer at Topsail Beach in North Carolina—a tradition we always looked forward to. Those trips created memories I still cherish. As an adult, I love traveling with friends and especially with my mom. A few years ago, we visited Charleston, South Carolina, and it was such a special experience we’ll always remember.
I’ve also traveled to several countries in Europe and truly enjoy the culture and cuisine. I hope to share those experiences with my child one day. Exploring new places and learning about different cultures helps shape a well-rounded, open-minded person. While my family wasn’t able to travel much beyond our annual beach trip, I hope to provide my child with many opportunities to see the world and create meaningful memories together.
