Dear Birthmom

I can’t imagine what you are currently going through. I know there must be a lot of feelings around this entire process, and all I can hope is for your and your baby’s well-being. I would like to share a bit about me and my journey to motherhood. I am 41 years old, and over the last 20 years I spent quite a bit of my time and effort in caring for those I love and nurturing a career. I’ve wanted to be a parent since I can remember, but during my 20s I focused on college and I worked hard to advance in my career. I also had some failed relationships and learned a lot during that time. I started to really take steps to become a parent in my mid 30s, and went to an IVF clinic, and looked into adoption. Last year I decided to solidify my plan to adopt, and I found Angel Adoption. I have made all the preparations to be ready for a baby (or more) in my home. My mom, my brother, my friends are all ready as well. Even my dogs are ready. I’ve also spoken to my priest. I know this decision is difficult, but I can only promise you that I will give the baby all my love, my time, my resources, and ensure they grow up in a safe, loving and uplifting household. I am looking forward to meeting you.

My Story

I enjoy traveling to relaxing destinations. Travel for me is essential to my life, as it allows me to connect with others, and with myself. I love nature, and I’ve seen some of the most gorgeous places in the Americas. One of my bucket list items is to visit all 7 World Wonders – so far, I’ve seen three, Machu Picchu, Jesucristo Redentor, and Chichen Itza.

I also love hosting social gatherings at my home. I recently hosted an Easter Brunch with 50 of my friends and family members. I look forward to hosting more as I build my family.

Another passion of mine is home improvement projects, and having an older home allows me to be creative and fix it up just how I want to.

 My Extended Family

I have a core family that includes my mom, my brother and two best friends. These four are the most important people in my life. We speak frequently and support each other on so many levels. I speak with my mom daily and I see her almost daily. Since moving to the US, these people have been the foundation for my personal and professional growth. My two best friends have been in my life for over 20 years.

Beyond this core group, I have a large network of friends who I connect with on an ongoing basis. My work friends have been there for me on many important milestones, like when I bought my house, and now they are fully invested in my parenthood journey.

Outside of work, I have friends whom I’ve known for many years here in Florida, and I also have friends in Peru, Brazil, Argentina, Spain, UK, Philippines, and all around the US. I have forged many relationships as I’ve travelled and stay in contact with them.

Because of my job, and the philanthropy work that I do, I’ve also met some public figures and change makers that enrich my life so much.

 My Home

I live in a quiet community, with older trees, peacocks, and wild bunnies. The neighborhood is next to a natural preserve, with more wildlife. The church I go to is around the corner, and they have a school there too. My home has two stories, with four bedrooms, a pool and patio, and a large fully fenced back yard. I also have a gorgeous pond in the back. I have two dogs, a 9-month-old golden retriever, and a 5-year-old Westie and they both enjoy playing in the back yard. I’ve always had a dog companion, as I feel they enhance our lives, and I’ve always raised my dogs to be friendly, caring, and soft. They truly are an extension of my family.

 My Journey to Adoption

I was born and raised in Peru, and I moved to the US at age 19. I’ve always stayed connected to my Peruvian heritage, but even more so in recent years. My mom, my brother and I speak Spanish to each other, and enjoy local Peruvian restaurants. I travel to Peru at least once a year for some philanthropic work.

I was raised Roman Catholic, and I’ve continued living in faith into my adult years and I intend to raise my children in the Catholic church, however, I have met incredible people from all over the world, from different cultures, different customs, who speak different languages, and worship differently. And each of these people have enriched my life in some way.
