Dear Birthmom
Dear Birthmom
We hope you are finding peace on your journey. No doubt, you have come very far to be at the point of looking at these profiles. From what we have learned, motherhood comes in many shapes and sizes. We are grateful that our motherhood paths may cross. We have been on a family building journey for 5 years including foster care, and fertility treatment. We have loved and lost, and have had kids come and go in our home and remain in our hearts. Through these experiences, we’ve come to understand how important the early bond and lifelong dreams are in family building.
While we are not religious, we do live by spiritual principles. We value community and connection and believe that we are all here to support and care for one another. As humans together, we are powerful and make many fantasies into realities. Adoption is one way that we do this. We admire the commitment, strength, and love you are demonstrating in your decision to pursue adoption for your baby. We are here to support you and channel your love exponentially for the child you are selflessly sacrificing to bring into this world. Thank you for taking the time to consider us and we look forward to meeting you, should you choose to do so.

Our Story
We love exploring new places and traveling. We take every opportunity to hike a new trail or revisit a favorite view. We love paddleboarding, snowshoeing, and walking along the Kennebec River Railtrail. We are both coffee lovers and enjoy sipping our coffee in the sunlight on the porch. We have a small herd of animals with whom we love to interact and for whom we love to care. We have a rotating list of house projects that consistently provide an exciting challenge. We’ve had fun diving into a vegan lifestyle in the last three years, spending a lot of time in the kitchen and experimenting with our cooking skills while allowing kids in our home to eat what they naturally enjoy and taste what we’ve created. We both enjoy carving out independent time reading good books on cold nights with a cup of hot tea. Jenn especially loves crafting, and tinkering with mechanics. She enjoys challenges and creative problem solving. Emily enjoys yard work and hobbies like disc golf, and cycling.
Our Extended Family
We are both from fairly large families and really love that. Emily has three older sisters and 5 nieces. Jenn has one older sister, two older brothers, and one younger brother. Emily’s mom is one of 13 and immigrated from Trinidad when she was 25 with her oldest sister. Emily’s family is primarily in NY now. Jenn’s family spans multiple states and loves traveling to see one another. Family connection is important to us. Currently, we live out of state from family but are intentional about visiting. Our families and friends have been a shoulder to cry on, listening ear, and physical support for all our parenting endeavours. While we moved away from a close knit group of friends, we maintained these friendships and started building new friendships as well. Collectively, our friends have a variety of experiences and have supported us emotionally as well as in our family planning. Our entire support system is excited for our new addition. Both of our families value celebrating milestones, accomplishments, and holidays when possible.
Our Home
We bought our house when we moved up to Maine from Pennsylvania in 2023. We live outside the capitol even though everything in Maine is pretty rural. We love our three bedroom, two bathroom house on just under 2 acres. While we love Maine for its nature, we do not feel overly committed to the culture of Maine as it is one of the least diverse. We enjoy the community events, such as fairs, artwalks, and community celebrations/parades. There are many extra-curricular activities for young people. We have experienced the supportive and inclusive mentality of the local school district and after-school programs through our fostering experiences. We are also happy to call two dogs, a cat, two chickens, and one turkey our fluffy/furry babies.
Our Journey to Adoption
We have always valued our personal heritages and sought to continue them in the family we have built. This is most easily seen through the food we cook and the music we listen to. As we have grown, we have come to prioritize honesty, equality, transparency, diversity, and dedication. In 2026, we took a trip with Emily’s family to Trinidad and Tobago and were able to see where Emily’s mother was raised as well as the site of Carnival, a major cultural event. We are currently planning a trip to Italy with Jenn’s family as her maternal side is from Italy and Poland. We both have Scandinavian roots as well. We love exploring new cultures and incorporating relevant and meaningful traditions into our family’s identity.
